The CANDU reactor was designed to eliminate long fueling outages that were being incured by the US PWR.  With the 10 year average @ 44 days, 39 days for the last 5 years and avg. US capacity factor (BWRs and PWRs) 5 percent higher than the Canadian average.  Should the Canadian Nuclear Industry and the Federal Government continue to pour money into AECL?
