AEP CEO Mike Morris Will Host Business Roundtable Teleconference On Energy And Climate

America’s top CEOs to recommend policies for climate change and U.S. energy security

Business Roundtable, an association of CEOs of leading U.S. companies, will outline key strategies that Congress should pursue in upcoming energy and climate legislation to accelerate America’s transition to a strong clean energy economy.

Mike Morris, Chairman of Business Roundtable’s Sustainable Growth Initiative, and Chairman, President and CEO of American Electric Power Company, Inc., will discuss Business Roundtable’s plan for addressing climate change and concrete steps Congress can take to now to advance America’s energy security without hampering economic growth. The round table will take place on Wednesday, October 21, 2009  - 9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. EDT

Business Roundtable is an association of chief executive officers of leading U.S. companies with more than $5 trillion in annual revenues and more than 12 million employees. Member companies comprise nearly a third of the total value of the U.S. stock markets and pay more than 60 percent of all corporate income taxes paid to the federal government. Annually, they return more than $167 billion in dividends to shareholders and the economy.
