Henri Proglio Named EDF Chairman And CEO

Henri Proglio has been a non-executive director of EDF since September 2004

Henri Proglio has been appointed today EDF Chairman and CEO by the Council of Ministers by decree.

Henri ProglioBorn on 29th June 1949 in Antibes (France), Henri Proglio is a graduate of the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC). He joined the Compagnie Générale des Eaux in 1972 and was appointed Chairman and CEO in 1990. He was appointed Vice-President of Vivendi Universal and Chairman and CEO of Vivendi Water in 1999 before becoming Chairman of Veolia Environnement in 2000 and then Chairman and CEO in 2003.

Henri Proglio has been a non-executive director of EDF since September 2004 and his term of office as a director was renewed for a period of 5 years by the EDF shareholders’ General Meeting which took place on 5th November. He retains his position as non-executive Chairman of the Veolia Environment Board of Directors.

Henri Proglio is also a non-executive director of CNP Assurances, Dassault Aviation and Natixis.

Henri Proglio is a Commander of the National Order of Merit of the Legion of Honour.
