Reactors operating normally after Iwate earthquake

Three nuclear power plants are operating normally after a 7.2 magnitude earthquake in the prefecture of Iwate, northern Japan. The Onagawa and Higashidori nuclear plants were unaffected by the quake, according to an official from the Tohoku Electric Power Co. At the Fukushima Daini plant, operated by TEPCO, there was a small spillage of weakly radioactive water from a storage pool in a warehouse used to store waste. The spillage was contained within the facilty and there has been no impact on the environment, according to a spokesman at the plant.
