Turkey abandons nuclear bid
Authorities have officially ended the latest effort to introduce nuclear power in Turkey. A notice on the Turkish Electricity Trading Company's website said the tender for new reactors had been cancelled.

Overwhelming support for new reactor
Scientists and legislators in Saskatchewan have proposed to the Canadian federal government that a new research reactor is built in the province. The submission came with 20 letters of support from industry and academia.

G8 endorses emissions cuts and nuclear
Leaders of the G8 have agreed goals for global greenhouse gas emission reductions. They have also noted that many countries consider nuclear energy can play an essential role in reducing emissions and lowering dependence on fossil fuels.
