The U.S. EPR is an evolutionary pressurized water reactor designed by AREVA Nuclear Power. It is a four-loop plant with a rated thermal output of 4,500 MWt. The U.S. EPR design features four redundant trains of emergency cooling equipment, and a containment and shield building for added protection.
