        PITTSBURGH, March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Westinghouse Electric Company, a
Toshiba Group Company based near Pittsburgh, Pa., announced today that it
has opened an office in San Jose, Calif., to support the growth of its
Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) nuclear power business.

In commenting on the expansion in California, Westinghouse Engineering
Services Vice President Nick Liparulo said: "Westinghouse is expanding its
BWR capabilities within the U.S. and plans to hire a significant number of
new employees to support global BWR growth. Westinghouse is experiencing an
exciting time as nuclear energy gains more popularity as the cost-effective
energy of choice. We are very happy to be adding San Jose to the
    Toshiba/Westinghouse family."

The new Westinghouse office is located at 226 Airport Parkway, San
    Jose, Calif.

In 2006, Westinghouse joined with its majority owner, Toshiba
Corporation to become the world's leader in commercial nuclear power.
Toshiba's experience in BWR technology, combined with Westinghouse's BWR
experience, has significantly expanded the Westinghouse product portfolio
and allowed the company to become a leading global supplier of BWR

Westinghouse and Toshiba have engineering and field operations in 11
worldwide locations to support BWR technology, products and services.
Toshiba and Westinghouse represent the largest worldwide nuclear operations
experience base, with 139 operating units. More than 20 percent of that
original equipment manufacturer fleet is comprised of BWRs.

Westinghouse Electric Company, a Toshiba Group company, is the worlds'
pioneering nuclear power company and is a leading supplier of nuclear plant
products and technologies to utilities throughout the world. Today,
Westinghouse technology is the basis for approximately one-half of the
    world's operating nuclear plants.
