Job Description

Holtec International®, a thriving company with its primary focus in the nuclear industry is seeking applicants for a Nuclear Business Development Engineer position in its corporate technology center located in Camden, NJ.  The Nuclear Business Development Engineer must be a self-motivated team player who is eager to help grow Holtec’s business footprint around the globe.  The individual must have excellent written and oral communication skills, is deadline driven, and works well under pressure. 

The individual will function in a support role to the sales and marketing department of Holtec’s Nuclear Power Division serving as the inside sales representative.  The individual must be able to understand and interpret technical requirements; provide technical information verbally and in written form; and develop relationships with potential clients both international and domestic within the Nuclear Industry. The Nuclear Business Development Engineer job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Assist the Sales Team by providing technical information and explanations to potential customers verbally and in written form.

Apply technical knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations.

Interpret customer needs, assess requirements and identify solutions.

Develop relationships by communicating with current and potential customers.

Manage the full life-cycle of proposals to include:

Pre- Requests for Proposal or Quotations (RFP/RFQ) release activities (i.e., template creation, draft response compilation, etc.)

Assist with drafting of win-themes, proposal strategy approach, and Q&A drafting/review

Proposal response calendar to include milestone dates, review meetings, production, and final proposal submission

RFP review, breakdown, analysis and creation of specific internal assignments

Creation of writing outlines to ensure compliant and comprehensive proposal response

Management of internal section writing with subject matter experts and other contributors for information inputs

Responsibility for compliant, customized, comprehensive, responsive technical proposals reflecting customer-specific themes

Participation in strategy, status, and review meetings

Write original text/tables and proof, edit, and re-write all sections and documents as needed to ensure accuracy, consistency of message, and RFP compliance

Prepare sales report showing sales volume and potential sales.

Assess competitors by analyzing and summarizing competitor information and trends; identifying sales opportunities.

Update job knowledge by studying new product descriptions; participating in educational opportunities.

Job Requirements

Experience and Qualifications for the successful candidate:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a well-recognized university.

Ability to understand and communicate technical nuclear concepts.

2-5+ years of engineering experience.

Sales experience is preferred, but not required.

Energy Industry and/or Nuclear sector experience is preferred, but not required.

Able to understand and assess level of effort required for each project and work within budget and schedule.

Ability to complete assigned work on or ahead of scheduled deadlines.

Ability to pay close attention to the most minute details, organization, and sensitivity to deadlines.

A proactive problem-solver with a high quality work ethic that asks questions, makes recommendations, and takes responsibility for their performance.

Competent in using Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, PROJECT, PowerPoint, and ADOBE.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an aptitude for technical/business writing.

Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization including senior/executive level management.

Ability to travel to attend conferences, pre-bid meetings, and customer meetings approximately 20% of the time.

Must be able to obtain escorted access to nuclear power plants in the U.S. and Internal locations.
