The Shaw Group continues to recruit workers to help build two Westinghouse AP1000 reactors at South Carolina's V.C. Summer nuclear plant, with company representatives assisting applicants at a nearby technical college once a week.The Fairfield County Herald Independent recently reported that Shaw recruiters are available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesdays, at the Midlands Technical College QuickJobs center in Winnsboro, S.C. Specifically, the recruiters can help candidates begin the online job application process at Shaw's website.Although the project recently went through layoffs, it still seeks skilled workers such as welders and pipefitters. A Shaw representative told the newspaper that about 1,550 people are working on the new reactors at present, with employment numbers expected to peak between 3,000 and 3,500.South Carolina Electric and Gas, along with parent company Scana Corp., are building two reactors at the plant near Jenkinsville, S.C., at a cost initially estimated at $9.8 billion. They are scheduled to go online in 2016 and 2019.

You know if they built these using union craftsmen they wouldn't have to go out and recruit people, they could put a call out from the union hall for crafts they need workers in. What a crock of crap this is. Shaw is double brassed meaning they work union and non union. Georgia plant boggle is ran by shaw and its all union I don't see them having problems manning there project.
