Areva formally opened a new office in Goodyear, Ariz., this week focused on providing services to the STARS Alliance of nuclear plants. The alliance is a group of seven plants (Callaway, Comanche Peak, Diablo Canyon, Palo Verde, San Onofre, the South Texas Project and Wolf Creek) operating pressurized water reactors in NRC Region IV. They created the organization in 2000 to share best practices and performance improvement initiatives. Its website says members "build on the competence and experience of our vendors through goal alignment and partnering activities."In its announcement Wednesday, Areva noted that it has provided services and equipment to all of the STARS plants, and the office near Phoenix will help the company meet the organization's goals.

What goal is that? Is one of the goals to be the general contractor at Palo Verde......I hope?
Definitely the goal is to do more business with all 7 of those plants. STARS is basically a buying alliance with the power of several plants to achieve cost savings.
They pay to much to have people at PV
