Passive safety features were among the most attractive features of the Westinghouse AP1000 reactor when utilities selected it for new units at Plant Vogtle and V.C. Summer. To offer a more in-depth explanation of these systems, the company recently published these illustrations showing how the reactor can remain stable for days in the event of a station blackout.Reactor passive safety systems:

Great video, no sound!!
Ingenious... yes somewhat. But a bit misleading - "Passive" implies no operator actions necessary... This is not the case.
No operator action is required for 72 hours after the start of the event. That has been a consistent feature of the AP designs (AP600, AP1000) since their inception. It is not "misleading."
Should this presentation have sound? Just wondering if I was something on my end.
Just an FYI...Westinghouse did not provide any sound with these presentation videos.
