Global engineering consultancy Amec Foster Wheeler (AFW) said Monday that it had secured a five-year commitment from EDF Energy Nuclear Generation to continue its operational support for EDF's British fleet of nuclear power reactors.
AFW said that the new agreement was valued at $153 million.
The contract falls under the companies Technical Support Alliance agreement. Noting support services for the British nuclear power business began more than 50 years ago, AFW said the five year agreement “with an option to extend for a further five years, follows Amec Foster Wheeler's partnership with EDF Energy under two similar frameworks – TSA 1 and TSA2.”
Annual revenues from the agreement are expected to range from $30 million to $37 million.
EDF and AFW share a vision for “zero harm, exceptional nuclear safety performance and world record-breaking results,” said EDF Energy's Managing Director of Generation Stuart Crooks.
