She is young, stunning and bright. She is also a chemist and she works for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Her name is Kara McCullough and her title, as of Sunday, is Miss USA.
Due to her title, the new Miss USA has a shot at the Miss Universe title, as her win Sunday grants her an entry into that pageant.
Her home is in Washington, D.C., although she has also lived in Japan, South Korea and Hawaii. She was raised in Virginia and says her goals is to inspire children to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math.
She touched on her job during the pageant, noting simply, “We regulate nuclear power plants.”
But her reign as Miss USA has only begun. She will undoubtedly have more to say in the next 365 days.
