Georgia Power's fourth quarter timeline video has been released to the public and includes highlights for 2018, as well as recent progress on the two-reactor expansion project in Waynesboro, Georgia.
Among the more visual highlights, the third and final containment vessel ring was put into place for Unit 3 with a massive lift. The ring weighs just under 2 million pounds, stands 38 feet high and has a diameter of 130 feet.
For Unit 4 progress includes installment of the final two generators, completing generator installation for the project, which includes four per unit. Two accumulators are also in place, as well as the reactor vessel, which was put into place ahead of schedule in March.The video clip shows the impressive accomplishments for the year a the only active nuclear power plant construction project in the country.Here's the clip:
