On December 30, 2021, ahead of schedule, Egyptian Nuclear Power Plant Authority (NPPA) handed over the package of documents to the Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA) which are required for receipt of license for construction of El Dabaa NPP power units 3 and 4 (general designer and general contractor is ROSATOM Engineering Division).
Russian nuclear power giant Rosatom said Wednesday that application paperwork had been handed in to the Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA) to secure a construction license for El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant units 3 and 4.
“This is one of the key stages for implementation of El Dabaa NPP project. Its aim is the issue of license for the construction of power units 3 and 4. As soon as the permission is issued, the parties will be able to commence full-scale construction,” Rosatom said.
Similar documentation was handed over for units 1 and 2 of the El Dabaa NPP, the paperwork delivered on June 30, 2021.
“The submission of documentation was preceded by joint coordinated work of the Russian and the Egyptian teams which made it possible to fulfill the ambition task of documentation approval tasking into account the technical requirements of the EPC Contract and adjustment to the site conditions”, pointed out Grigory Sosnin, Director of Project for El Dabaa NPP construction of ASE JSC.
