Power was restored at the Catawba plant Thursday afternoon, according to the NRC and plant owner Duke Energy.
On Wednesday, the plant declared an unusual event when the Unit 1 reactor tripped offline due to a loss of power.
There was no radiation released and no impact to plant workers or the public after power was lost, the NRC said.
