Trillo

Trillo

Reactor:    PWR

Location:    Guadalajara, on the banks of the river Tajo

In the News:       Trillo

1988         Construction started on Unit 1 and commissioned for commercial use

1994         The licensee initiated a far-reaching design review programme known as the
                 Operating
Experience and Systems Analysis (OESA), with technical support from the
                 main supplier, SIEMENS-KWU, and
other engineering companies

2004         Within the framework of the programme to address severe accidents (with core
damage), the Council reported favourably on the licensee’s proposal not to carry out
the design modification of the containment filtered venting system that had been
implemented at various European nuclear power plants, this modification not having
been performed at the other Spanish plants or in the USA

2008         After evaluating the cost-benefit analysis carried out by Trillo NPP, the CSN required
the licensee to submit the project for the installation of the design modification for a
“bleed and feed” system aimed at improving the plant safety levels within nine months

2009         Trillo has submitted to CSN a project for the installation of a “bleed and feed” system
                 that is currently under evaluation
