Online Radiation Protection School

The program is 6 months. 99% of our students are through our student loan program. We are approved through the Work Force Investment Act in Ohio. Which means if a person is low income per number of dependents or on unemployment, they are eligible for 100% payment by WIA. Many of our students have been referred to us by Exelon and INEL. Once through our program, they work an outage or two and then are hired in house and trained per the house RP program.

SES, Inc. will be the offering our next LIVE-ON-LINE (Internet) Health Physics Tech/Radiation Control Technician Training class May 22, 2008. Sign up for the class is limited. Students will be taken into the program on a first come, first serve basis. Classes will be on Tuesday and Thursday nights, 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm EST. This program is a joke. I wasted 6 months going through this training only to get one job with Bartlett Nuclear. After the outage with Bartlett Nuclear I applied to outages and companies throughout the country only to be told that they never heard of SES, SES is not a legitimate school and not experience enough for working as a Rad Tech. I wasted time and money on this training and now I have a balance of $3000 outstanding against me from going through this training when I should be suing for the money and time I wasted going though this program.

People get a clearance and work at a power plant and never work at Bartlett or another nuclear plant again. Doesnt sound like training was your issue, but your work ethic. Education gets you in the door, how you use your education proves your worth not calling the training provider a waste.

What anyone should know about the nuclear power industry is this , if you are lucky you will work 3 outages a year at best . When I say 3 thats if your lucky most of us work 2 and thats with over 20 years plus experiance. The only way you make a decent living is working direct for a nuclear plant (in house) Bartlett, Shaw , Dz atlantic ect only hire for outages for the most part . Do not fall for the idea that if you get training for going to have this great living in nuclear power !! most of us work a outage and collect unemployment for several months waiting for the next outage season to start . having a job thats solid in this industry will count much more if your daddy , mommy or other family member works for one of the plants , if thats the case you can be as dumb as a box of rocks and have a long well paying job . NEPOTISM is what the industry counts on to fill spots not hard work , exsperiance or ethics .
