TVA has accomplished a major milestone in their ongoing Sequoyah Nuclear Plant outage by placed four new steam generators in the Unit 2 containment building. This TVA video shows one of the old steam generators being removed and transported to a storage facility.
The outage is scheduled for 90 days and the CEO of the Tennessee Valley Authority, Tom Kilgore, says the $360 million project is ahead of schedule.
The steam generators in Unit 1 have already been replaced.
Check out a time lapse video of the assembly of the Platform Twin-Ring Containerized Crane used for replacing these steam generators.
