Day & Zimmermann has reached a deal to provide maintenance and modifications at the South Texas Project nuclear plant near Houston.Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but a release reported the contract covers a five-year period."We are excited about this opportunity and are committed to partnering with STP to share the capabilities and industry best practices D&Z delivers to much of the U.S. nuclear fleet," Day & Zimmermann executive Gary McKinney said in the release.Ongoing contracts for the Philadelphia-based construction and engineering firm also include an agreement announced in August with FirstEnergy for continued work at its Davis-Besse, Perry and Beaver Valley plants. The company also holds a five-year capital projects contract at nine Entergy plants reached in 2011.STP Nuclear Operating Co. runs two Westinghouse reactors at the South Texas Project plant in Bay City, Texas, for NRG Energy, CPS Energy and Austin Energy.
