Rosatom and the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran have signed a memorandum of understanding that covers nuclear materials transportation, the Russian company announced Tuesday.
The documents were signed by Rosatom's General Director Alexey Likhachev and Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif following initial discussions that involved Russian Federation President Vladamir Putin and Republic of Iran President Hassan Rouhani.
The memorandum spells out cooperation in infrastructure construction in Russia and Iran to accommodate transportation issues involved in nuclear power construction, management and transportation issues. It emphasizes a commitment to upholding international standards related to safety, 4-Traders reported.
