Customizing Your Layout
Nuclear Street provides you the tools to easily change the layout of your group, if you desire.
To start to customize a page, go to that page and click on the “Customize” link on the upper right corner.
Please Note: Changes made to a page are ONLY for that page. If you desire to change other page layouts, you must navigate to that page and select the “Customize” button.
You will be taken to a layout designer. At the top of the screen you will see a list of widgets. If you click on the arrow at the right of the list, you will see there an assortment of widgets you can use to customize your page.
Here is a list widgets that you can select from to customize your layout.
Activity Message List: displays a list of all recent activity
Forum – Thread List: list of forum threads based on the query settings described below
Google Gadget: allows you to display a Google gadget such as a clock, map, or Google search form on your page
Blog – Browse Blogs: lists the blogs, their groups, their posts, and their latest posts so that you can select which one to read
Forums – Browse Forums: lists the forums, their groups, their posts, and their latest posts so that you can select which one to read or respond to
Group – Banner: displays the name of your community on the group's Home page
Blog – Post List: displays a list of blog posts
Forum – Links: allows you to specify forum-specific common links
Group – Breadcrumbs
Featured Content: allows you to draw your users' attention to specific content by giving it a prominent place on your Web pages
Generic Content: allows you to customize a widget that contains any content you specify, including links to images and videos
Groups – Links: list common links for the group
Group – Title: displays links to blogs related to the current group
RSS Feed: displays the most recent items from RSS feeds
Group – List: displays a list of recent activity related to the current group. This activity includes blogging activity, membership activity, and so on
Media Gallery – File List: provides a list of all media available to the user, sorted by recency of post; name, number of downloads, number of views, number of comments, and rating
Tag Cloud: allows you to display your tags in the cloud format
Group – Membership Status: tells you whether or not users are members of the group or requesting membership in the group
Media Gallery – Links: allows you to specify specific links and actions such as download, post, or favoring that are common to all media galleries
User List: displays a list of users based on the widget's query settings described below
User Status: allows you to leave a status message to the prompt provided by the "What are you doing?" prompt as well as enter user information, change site settings, and change the avatar
Wikis – Browse Wikis: lists the wikis, their groups, their posts, and their latest posts so that you can select which one to read
Wikis – Page List: displays a list for the wikis. You can only configure the name of this widget

To install a widget begin by clicking on and dragging the widget from the widget menu to the place on the page where you want it to e. You can see in the picture below that when you drag the widget into place your will see a gray box below that shows you where it can be placed.
After you have placed the widget, you will want to configure the widget to hold your information. To configure the widget, click on the pencil on the corner of the widget. Once you click on it a window will appear that will allow you to configure it.
Once you are finished, click on the save button.
After you have configured all the widgets and you are done customizing the page, click on the “Finish” button to save all your work.
